Square Enix Logo | Deadman's Cross

It wasn’t long ago that Square Enix re-registered the trademark for Final Fantasy Agito, leading to many questions on what they were producing under the name. Now another big mystery shows itself, as Square Enix has been revealed to have trademarked the name Deadman’s Cross in Europe.

As of now, no information on just what kind of game Deadman’s Cross will actually be has surfaced.  To compile even more mysteries surrounding this new trademark, the title is coming from Square Enix’s main division, with the recently acquired subsidiary Eidos, not appearing to be involved at all.  A domain name corresponding with this new trademark was acquired back in April by Square Enix as well.

The trademarked title sounds sounds very familiar to Square Enix’s other franchise, Guardian Cross, a card battle game game for the iOS. Could this new Deadman’s Cross title be a sequel to the successful smartphone series? Or is it a completely new IP? We will just have to wait and see, as more info is released.
