Nintendo Download

The 3DS is getting a real shot in the arm in this week’s Nintendo Download. Not only are The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves for $11.99 and the Project X Zone demo available in North America this week, but both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons are finally available this week. Ordinarily, they would be $5.99, but Nintendo is running a promotion from now until June 20th, where you can get each game for $4.99. This means you can get both of these great games for about $10.

That’s not to say the Wii U hasn’t received any content either. Both Mega Man X for the SNES and Ghosts ‘n Goblins for the NES are available on the Wii U’s Virtual Console this week for $7.99 and $4.99 respectively. Capcom is also running its own sales promotion for these two games. If you buy one of these titles, you can get the other for half off. This offer lasts until June 6th.

Speaking of discounts, Two Tribes also slashed the price of Toki Tori 2 down to $11.24 instead of $14.99 until June 6th. Also, Ubisoft is reducing the eShop version of Just Dance 4 down to $34.99 until June 4th, as well as reducing the prices of various songs for the game down to $2.10.

In addition to video games available at retail stores, Nintendo also offers a variety of content that people can download directly to their systems. Nintendo adds new titles weekly to the Nintendo eShop for the Wii U system as well as the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems, to the Nintendo DSi™ Shop for the Nintendo DSi system and to the Wii™ Shop Channel for the Wii console.

The Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service and features games, applications and videos. All funds from one card must be redeemed in either the Wii U eShop or the Nintendo 3DS eShop, respectively. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

The Wii Shop Channel offers games and applications and uses Wii Points™, which can be purchased via the Wii Shop Channel. The Nintendo DSi Shop offers games and applications and uses Nintendo DSi Points™, which can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. It was a good week for Nintendo downloads.

  • rhubarb_fortress

So, wait. If I purchase Ghosts and Goblins for 4.99, I get Mega Man X for $4? Normally those types of sales make you pay for the more expensive product and get half off the lower. Can anybody verify this?

  • smacd

Glad to see NA is getting a Project X Zone demo. I have a little more faith in Namco Bandai’s marketing of the game now.

I’ll have to grab the Zelda games. Other than those, Minish Cap is the only one out there I either don’t own or haven’t played. They really need to start putting GBA games on the eShop, not just for “ambassadors”. Well, and I don’t have and haven’t played the CD-i games which I’m actually wanting to play despite how bad I hear they are.

  • SecretX

i’m so getting Mega man X game i love that game!! i want more SNES games Nintendo!!

  • Ace Trainer Chris

Worth noting that it’s best to buy Ghosts ‘n Goblins first, then Mega Man X. Doing so brings the price to $8.98. Otherwise, the other way around will cost you $10.48.
