Fairy Fencer F | OpRain

Compile Heart has released a quick video for Fairy Fencer F that features Tiara, one of the game’s heroines and a character on the front cover of the game. Tiara is the character whom Fang, Fairy Fencer F‘s male protagonist, rescues prior to becoming a Fencer- a wielder of mystical weapons used by the gods.

Tiara is voiced by Kaori Ishihara, who played characters such as Cicily in Disgaea D2, and Aladdin in Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic. She uses a water-based attack in the video, but more information has yet to be revealed, and it’s unsure if she specializes in that particular element.

Within this short preview, we get a glimpse of what Fairy Fencer F looks like in motion. Like Hyperdimension Neptunia by Team Neptune- the same team developing this game- it has the flashy visual effects, bubbly character designs, and scripted camera motions that achieve both an animated and cinematic presentation. It is still unclear if this game will play exactly like Hyper Dimension Neptunia, where characters run around a perimeter before attacking, but the turn-based essence is still there.

Fairy Fencer F will be released in Japan for the PlayStation 3 on September 19, 2013. Final Fantasy contributors such as artist Yoshitaka Amano and composer Nobuo Uematsu, with his band “Earthbound Papas,” are involved in the game. Previously dubbed as Galapagos RPG, Fairy Fencer F has been designed to target Japanese audiences specifically. Hopefully there will be increased interest in seeing the game released overseas.
