Dragon's Crown

Dragon's Crown

The Dragon’s Crown news keeps on coming, as a slew of screenshots involving the action, artwork, and characters has been uploaded for  our viewing pleasure. The wonderfully surreal world of George Kamitani and Vanillaware does not cease to disappoint, and only seeks to amaze with an arcade-y 2D brawler set in a picturesque world.

According to the screenshots, we see the Fighter, Dwarf, Sorceress, Wizard, and Amazon in action with tons of slicing, magic, and explosions to go along with it. Unfortunately, there are no images involving the Elf, but there has been a video showcasing her abilities. Also, keep in mind that these images only showcase one person playing the game. Dragon’s Crown has local and online multiplayer.

Here are the screenshots below:

Much like the games before it, such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Odin Sphere, and its spiritual predecessor Princess CrownDragon’s Crown appears to use the same formula where you start from town to town, move into dungeons, combat an onslaught of unique enemies, and view event scenes upon completing a level. There is still no word about what the game’s progression design will be; if it uses a world map like in the previous Vanillaware games, or a hub overworld. Given its style of gameplay, it will most likely have the simplest use of travel possible.

Dragon’s Crown will be available for PlayStation 3 and Vita in North America on August 6. Both versions support online play, but will not support cross-online play, as originally announced by Ignition.
