mighty switch force! 2 coverOn the official Wayforward blog, the team behind Mighty Switch Force! 2 has stated that the game’s development phase is finally done, as the studio will now get ready to test the game for quality assurance. Mighty Switch Force! 2 was originally revealed by one of its creators, Austin Ivansmith, after having been invited to an episode of Destructoid’s ‘Sup Holmes!, a weekly podcast series hosted by Jonathan Holmes.

Here is the blog post by one of Wayforward’s staff, including a caricature of the game’s protagonist, Patricia Wagon:

Going the way forward!

Mighty Switch Force! 2 is a wrap! It’s pencils down for the dev team. Next stop, testing, testing, and more testing. Poor Patty… not even cybernetic citizens of Planet Land can escape the wrath of final exams.

Knowing that Wayforward has made distinguished games such as Contra 4, Double Dragon Neon, Shantae’s Risky Revenge, and Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage!? among others, it is certain that the developers of Mighty Switch Force! 2 will test it thoroughly to meet, if not exceed, the same standards as their other games.

The original Mighty Switch Force! met with positive reception among gamers and critics alike, as well as one of our own staffers, who called it “One of the first [games] to switch people’s opinions on the eShop service.

Mighty Switch Force! 2 is coming soon for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Stay tuned for more news.
