3DS 75.922
PS Vita 15.011
PS3 13.915
Wii U 8.798
PSP 7.816
Wii 1.379
Xbox 360 515

Well, after two weeks of hardware drops on the Media Create chart, we get a gain of nearly 30,000. However, it seems to stem completely from the 3DS. All the others are holding steady with half slightly up (Vita, PSP, and Xbox 360) and the other half slightly down (PS3, Wii U, and Wii).

So, what could single-handedly cause a massive rise for a console? A first party Nintendo game called Tomodachi Collection: New Life (or Friend Collection as it is literally translated), which has sold over 400,000 in four days. From what I can tell, it is a mix of The Sims crossed with Animal Crossing. Also, it is a sequel to a game on the DS that we never got; so don’t be surprised not to hear about this one outside of these chart posts.

2 million and counting in Japan.

In other Nintendo related news, New Super Mario Bros. 2 became the third 3DS game to top the 2,000,000 mark in Japan, behind Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Mario Kart 7. And last week’s Top 3 games — Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Card Fight!! Vanguard: Ride to Victory, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf — are 4th, 7th, and 5th respectively.

For the other big console makers, both Sony and Microsoft each saw a new game make the list. Sony’s top offerings were Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 3 for the PS3 and 7th Dragon 2020-II for PSP. Sony also scored a spot for new PSP title Amnesia Crowd from Idea Factory. Microsoft secured a spot in the Top 20 with Monster Hunter Frontier: G1 Premium Package.
