All I can pretty much say this week is…YIKES! Sales are down across the board again in the Media Create charts. Console sales are down almost 25,000 from last week and nearly 20,000 from last year. The hardest hit in terms of numbers is the 3DS (just over 10,000). In terms of percentage, the Wii U felt the hardest hit (32.4%). However, we still have one thing to be happy about: the Vita has surpassed 1.5 million in lifetime sales.
For software, everything is down again. For Nintendo, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon takes first place again with 56,000 in sales, topping the half-million mark in total sales. Professor Layton and the Legacy of Civilization A (The Azran Legacy in the West) topped 200,000 in total sales. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is about one week away from the 2,000,000 mark. And the only new game on this week’s charts is Card Fight!! Vanguard: Ride to Victory!!, securing over 44,000 sales.
The top Sony game in this week’s Media Create charts is One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 on the PS3, selling 12,799 for 4th place. The top Vita game is Muramasa Rebirth, sliding in for 7th place.
