Manami Matsume Shovel Knight

“This is the first time I’m working on a Western game! It’s quite exciting! Shovel Knight and I are a good fit. So… let’s get shovelin’?”, said Manami Matsumae, according to the recent update from Shovel Knight‘s Kickstarter page.

Fans of Megaman who saw a similar vibe from Yacht Game’s Shovel Knight have a lot to be excited about, as the composer from Megaman, U.N. Forces, and Megaman 10 among many other Capcom games, is involved in scoring this new indie game.

You can get a taste of the teaser here:

While Yacht Games said she is composing two songs for Shovel Knight, they are deeply excited and humbled by her cooperation. They write she is “a master of injecting personality into a stage or character through her music” with each installment of Megaman and its sequels. This could add a lot of value for Shovel Knight, given the amount of promise Matsumae delivers in her music.

Interestingly, Yacht Games also writes that the Koopa Soundworks Team was responsible for getting a hold of Matsuame. Koopa Soundworks had also interviewed her in the past, which you can read HERE.

So are YOU excited about Shovel Knight? It looks like an incredibly fun game by the ex-staff of Wayforward. Given their previous entries like Double Dragon NeoShantae‘s Risky Revenge, and BloodRayne Vengeance, this new outing by Yacht Games is definitely one that won’t disappoint.
