Blood of the Werewolf

Nintendo fans and Castlevania fans alike have reason to rejoice. Courtesy of Scientifically Proven Entertainment, Wii U owners will be getting a eShop title sometime this June called Blood of the Werewolf, a dark, brutal platformer set to a gothic backdrop. Players will control Selena, voiced by Erin Cummings, one of the last members of the Wolf clan whose child Nickoli has been stolen away after her husband was murdered. She sets off to rescue the little cub in an epic quest. Apparently, gameplay will take place in a town controlled by Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Dracula, and players must beat their minions to reach and destroy them.

For those who notice the similarities between this title and Castlevania, that is no coincidence. The developers are big fans of the series and looked to it for inspiration. They are also apparently fans of such classics as Mega Man, Ghouls and Ghosts, and Ninja Gaiden amongst others, so don’t expect Blood to be easy. Sounds great to me.
