Dynasty Warriors 8 now has a Japanese release date of February 28, 2013. It will be priced at 7,560 yen ($91.74USD) for the retail version and 6,600 yen ($80.09 USD) on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3. Those that reserve the game will also be getting a Dynasty Warriors 8 special smart phone pouch.

A Treasure Box edition will be available at the cost of 13,440 yen ($163.09). This edition will include, along with the game, a deluxe 3D character crystal, the original soundtrack, and an Omega Force secret walkthrough/artbook. Other special mentionable items include things like downloadable costumes for Zhao Yun and Sun Shangxian from Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII.

Characters both new and old were also announced; each character will have three Musou attacks.

They are:

Guan Yinping

Weapon: Double-headed mace.

Guan Xing

Weapon: Dual wing blades.

Zhang Bao

Weapon: Muraji Thorn Blade.

Liu Bei

Weapon: Pair of swords.

Guan Yu

Weapon: Scimitar.

Zhang Fei

Weapon: Pair of spears.

Daqiao

Weapon: Pair of canes.

Sun Ce

Weapon: Rotary stick.

Zhang Jiao

Weapon: Bishop’s staff
