Capcom has changed the release date of their latest project, Darkstalkers Resurrection, in Japan. The game was originally set to be release on 2/07/2013, but will now be available on 3/14/2013. The reasoning behind this seems to be a netcode issue. They have hopes of attaining a very smooth online experience and have decided to allow longer times to perfect the netcode.

Capcom has recently stated in a press release: “Players who want to face-off against their friends online are able to with GGPO-enabled online game play that helps create a virtually lag-free fighting game experience. Building upon the online system previously introduced in Street Fighter® III: Third Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs. Capcom® Origins, online game play now includes upgraded matchmaking with additional options such as region matching, ping lock and ping display.” Seeing as how they are putting emphasis on the online game play I say this is a pretty good reason for the delay, if they fix things up right fans will most likely appreciate the extra effort. With that said, Capcom better ensure a smooth experience after asking gamers to wait longer for the online game experience.
