professor layton vs ace attorney

Crossovers seem to be all the rage lately. However, Level-5 has taken the concept in a new direction with their upcoming mystery-solving mishmash, Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney. A recently released trailer for the game finally gives us some insight to how the crossover title will play when it’s released in Japan on 29th of this month.

Playing as Professor Layton you will, unsurprisingly, be solving puzzles and riddles in order to make sense of what is happening in the enigmatic Labyrinth City. The shadow-filled, medieval city is ruled by “the Story Teller,” who is able to make anything he writes become reality.

Meanwhile, playing as Phoenix Wright, you’ll find yourself defending a local girl who’s been accused of witchcraft. The procedures are very similar to the Ace Attorney games (even the bald, bearded judge is there!); however the medieval setting is drastically and almost hilariously different.

Western fans of both series are sure to enjoy this game when it sees release in the US/EU. That is, IF it sees release here. As of right now, there are sadly no available details on the localisation of Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney.

For now, let’s take a look at the trailer.

This is looking good so far. I never played a Professor Layton game, but I’m a big Ace Attorney fan.

In case this game ever gets localized, I bought Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask so that I could familiarize myself with Layton’s gameplay.

I’ll defiantly continue to keep an eye on this title.

  • A gentleman is always patient.  PSH.  Forget that.  I’m going go picket in front of the offices of Capcom, Level-5, or whoever’s making this game until they localize it.

  • Oh my god. I actually don’t want to throttle Luke with his Japanese voice acting. It’s a miracle.

I’m a fan of Layton, but never played an Ace Attorney game. I’d like to pick this game up and give it a shot though.

Beautiful looking game, the type of stuff I bought a 3ds for.

This cannot be localized fast enough.
