Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Famitsu recently revealed four more playable characters and two new stages for the upcoming fighting game based on the 25-year old manga Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. After so many years, the series has managed to accumulate quite the amazing cast of fabulous characters, making each reveal as exciting as the good old Smash Bros. Dojo-days (wouldn’t a “Jojo Dojo” be sweet?).

The first character revealed is Josuke Higashikata, the main character of the fourth part in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. With his stand, Crazy Diamond, he’ll be able heal his opponents only to beat them into a worse state with a barrage of punches. Also, he’ll enter a rage mode if something derogatory is said about his hairdo (how this will work is uncertain).

Wherever Josuke goes, his best friend Okuyasu is bound to follow. His stand, The Hand’s ability is to scrape away portions of space, which he will use to drag his opponent towards him and vice versa.

Also revealed was the only female Jojo, Jolyne Kujo; main character of the 6th part’s “prison-drama” and daughter of the more famous Jotaro Kujo. Using her stand, Stone Free, she will be able to tie her enemies down and hit them with her baseball balls for a massive 1000hit combo.

Jolyne, like Josuke, also brings a companion to the fight. Hermes Costello and her stand Kiss will be duplicating her foes by use of stickers, which will cause severe damage once these are removed and the copies are forced back together.  It truly is incredible how faithful CyberConnect2 has been when it comes to these bizarre fighting styles.

Representing these parts are two new stages, the Green Dolphin Street Prison (complete with raining poison dart frogs) and the small town of Morioh.

Hopefully we’ll receive details of some of the series villains next. It will be interesting to see how CyberConnect2 tackles the confusing ability of King Crimson. How about you? What characters are you hoping will make it into the roster? Let us know in the comments.
