Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary

Along with the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX at this year’s Tokyo Game Show was the reveal of brand new territory for the series: a browser game. Today brought the first screenshots of the the new game, which is only said to be “Coming Soon.”

While we don’t know when to expect this game’s release, we do have some story and game mechanic tidbits. The art will be provided by Kingdom Hearts Mobile and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy veteran Monster Octopus. You will take control of your own, unique character in the Kingdom Hearts universe and travel to various Disney worlds fighting Heartless where you will eventually take your stand in the great Keyblade War using a card battle system. This puts the game, chronologically, as the very first game in the Kingdom Hearts series, predating Birth By Sleep.

This is the first social game to be part of the Kingdom Hearts series and seems to be much more than the standard Farmville fair to be found on browsers. It also appears to add quite a bit to the backstory of the series; establishing it as part of the Kingdom Hearts canon.

Keep an eye out for more news of Kingdom Hearts for PC Browsers in the future.
