It was revealed earlier today that the manga series Aoi Sekai no Chushin de, which is based on the Nintendo/Sega console wars of the 90s, would be getting an anime adaptation sometime this fall. The characters are based off of various Sega and Nintendo franchises, including what appears to be Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, Super Mario Bros., Pokemon, Metroid, and MOTHER. There’s no word on when exactly the anime series will start airing in Japan and whether or not it’ll come to North America at this time. But, knowing the internet, it’s very likely we’ll see a fansub show up on YouTube sometime after it airs.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

  • They aren’t being terrible subtle with these, are they?  Some of those are almost blatantly obvious.

  • So it’s like Hetalia, but with video games instead of countries? Sounds interesting.

    •  That was my first thought too! lol. Though they made games off of this same concept as well.

  • Firethorn43

Didn’t Hyperdimension Neptunia already do this?

    •  that was my other first thought, though I assume the manga came out long before Neptunia did.

  • I hope it has merit beyond “Hey remember X! here’s x as an anime thing!” We have enough terrible anime everywhere.

  • The lack of the legend of Zelda disturbs me.

    • I think the one called “Zerig” represents The Legend of Zelda, based on the fairy and Majora’s Mask.
