Earlier this week, it was revealed that Picross E would be released on the Nintendo eShop in the UK. One would expect that North America would be also getting the game this week. But then, that would make sense. We can’t have that in a North American Nintendo Download. But fear not! We did get one item of interest this week. Prince of Persia for the SNES will be available on the Wii’s Virtual Console for 800 points.

This is the third week in a row after the release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 that Nintendo of America failed to give us anything substantial. Meanwhile, Nintendo of Europe is consistently giving its audience things to play after the release of New Super Mario Bros. 2. It would’ve taken very little effort for NoA to release something like Dr. Mario, Kirby’s Star Stacker, Picross E, or other games I could list off the top of my head. But no, Nintendo of America is more interested in The Black Eyed Peas than throwing us a bone, recently.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

  • This version was actually pretty good, it had a few extra levels and because of this the timer also was increased. I think this is the version I liked the most due to the extra levels and better graphics (compared to the original).

  • NoA is getting more and more ridiculous… really can’t understand them. NoE releases lots of cool games, but NoA just plays dead. Unless they change their attitude, I don’t think I’ll buy the Wii U. There’s no way in hell I’m gonna spend my hard-earned on a console for which there’ll be no decent games to play.

    • I’ll probably end up getting a Wii U by the time the next Smash Bros comes out. But until then, I can’t think of enough reasons to buy a Wii U over, say, the OUYA.

    • There’s already a version of Dr. Mario on the Wii Sop Channel/3DS eShop.  It’s not the NES version, no, but it’s still a a lot of fun.

Seriously, you need to stop it with the rage-fueled editorial bullshit while reporting news.  It makes you look no better than a Kotaku writer.

    • The 3DS is doing just fine in the way games.  It has quite a few retail games to offer.  The eShop, however, is another story.  It has garnered little support over the past few months.  I can only hope NOA gets their act together and returns the eShop to its former glory.

  • The day they put Pokemon Red and Blue on the 3DS Virtual Console will be a happy day indeed.
