Ever heard of Picdun? No? Well, it’s a first-person dungeon crawler that released on DSiWare. Considering that Nintendo doesn’t release the sales figures for any of its games on its digital storefronts, we don’t know how well it did when it was released. But, it apparently did well enough to warrant a sequel. Titled Picdun 2, you get to play as three female protagonists as opposed to just the one in the first game. You can choose between a girl that uses magic, a girl who uses a whip, and a girl who “shoots people in their hearts to make them fall in love”. As opposed to shooting people in the heart and killing them, I mean.

The game has about 60 floors, with every five floors containing an elevator that will take you back to the entrance, if you want. It also has an auto-mapping system, presumably on the touch screen. The developers of this game also teased that the game was given a CERO B rating (the Japanese equivalent of a 12 and up rating) as opposed to a CERO A rating (the Japanese all-ages rating) for a reason. Something tells me it has something to do with breasts. Just a hunch.

The game will be released on August 22nd in Japan for 500 yen ($6).

EDIT: More egg on my face. As some of you have pointed out, there was another entry in the Pidcun series called Dot Eater: New Picdun. It’s only available in Japan as of this writing and focuses on speed runs. So that would make Picdun 2 the third entry in the series, not the second.

Oopsie-doodle.
