It has been announced that Atlus’ North American CEO Shinichi Suzuki is leaving his post today.  In his place will be Naoto Hiraoka, current head of consumer business at Index Corporation.  Both Atlus and Index Corporation are part of Index Digital Media, Inc.

IDM promises that Hiraoka will bring “a more unified, synergistic vision for the brand, hoping to further expand upon ATLUS’ current trend of prosperity by bringing the Japanese and North American offices closer together.”  Hiraoka also wants to have a focus on the core but stay open minded in “exploring new opportunities in emerging sectors.”

Suzuki, who helped release titles like Persona 4, Demon’s Souls, Catherine, and Radiant Historia, expressed nothing but appreciation in his departure:

In the time since I assumed the role of President and CEO of Index Digital Media, Inc., the company has experienced tremendous success and growth. I am so proud to have served at the helm of such a well-loved brand as ATLUS. I thank my staff and all of the fans that continue to support the company and its games.

Shinichi Suzuki will remain with Index Digital Media, Inc. as an advisor to help with a smooth transition.  That role is expected to last through September.
