A new downloadable Action-RPG is headed to PC and select consoles.  German developer Deck13 Interactive and German publisher dtp Entertainment are bringing you Blood Knights, an RPG dealing with knights and vampires in the Middle Ages.

The two main protagonists for Blood Knights are Jeremy, a former vampire hunter and member of the Knights Templar, and Alysa, a mysterious and powerful vampire.  They are bound by blood after Jeremy was bitten by Alysa during a hunt.  They must fight together in order to survive and find an end to their binding.

From dtp Entertainment’s website (translated into English):

Blood Knights is characterized by spectacular battles against hordes of monsters, many RPG elements and a motivating co-op for two players, which allows many different tactical approaches to the tasks to be solved. It rounds out the gaming experience with elaborately staged sequences, which advance the story and offer a dense atmosphere.

Though dtp gave no official date in the press release – leaving at 3rd quarter – their website expects Blood Knights to release August 24, 2012.  The game has been confirmed for release through Steam, the PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade.  Blood Knights is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
