After VGChartz listed their final Xenoblade Chronicles pre-order number at 187, 091 , they further speculate the lifetime sales of the game in the US.

From their website:

Expect the game to sell between 750,000 units and 1 million units in the USA by the time it is done selling. This is the only game in the series, but it was first released in Japan in June 2010.”

We here at Operation Rainfall would love for the game to do that well, but it does seem like that number is a bit high. Prove us wrong US game buyers!

  • I will laugh so hard at Nintendo of America if that actually happens.

“AND YOU ALMOST MISSED THIS OPPORTUNITY? HA!”

  • I expect it to peak no higher than 500k.  Really it depends on how many copies Nintendo ships.  Word of mouth is strong for this game, and it would get even stronger as people play it and others find out about it.  But the copies have to be there in stores.

This games deserves much more sells than many other RPGs which are million-selling (see Final Fantasy XIII).
